The NM Rio Rapids U-15 Boys team has advanced the finals of the Far West Regional Tournament beating FC Classic Premier from Arizona. Steven Lee scored both goals on penalty kicks. After falling behind 1-0 5 minutes into the second half, the Albuquerque boys fought on. A foul in the box at 12 minutes into the second half gave the Rio boys their chance. Steven Lee calmly buried the penalty kick past the Arizona keeper. The match stayed ties through regulation. Then in stoppage time of the second half, Skylor Rose delivered a well timed ball to the streaking Johnny Baros. Baros held his position and was fouled in the box. Coach Sibby Brown praised the all around effort of the entire team over the course of the grueling tournament being played in Boise, Idaho.
