Rio Rapids Soccer Club based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Northern Soccer Club in Santa Fe, New Mexico, announced this Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015, that they will enter into a partnership. The Northern SC club will hence be known as the Rio Rapids Northern Soccer Club. In a collaborative spirit, both Rio Rapids and Northern SC clubs will maintain their own respective Directors of Coaching, coaching staffs and Board of Directors.
Director Chris Cartlidge says, “I am extremely excited to announce the partnership with Rio Rapids Northern SC. The proximity of the two clubs will create a wealth of opportunities for players and coaches of both clubs. The clubs are closely aligned in terms of their desire to focus on player development, coach education and parent education. These will be among the areas of focus in the coming weeks and months.”
“It is with great pleasure that Rio Rapids SC welcomes Northern Soccer into the Rapids family. We look forward to working with the administration, coaches, players, and families in Northern SC to provide competitive and educational opportunities to enhance their soccer experience”, added Rio Rapids President Greg Woodhouse.
“Both Northern and Rio Rapids SC have the same player development philosophy and we see this partnership as a win/win for players in Santa Fe who will get greater exposure to more competitive playing and the opportunity to get more, and better coaching.” Said Northern SC Executive Director Nic Smith in an announcement released by both clubs.
Rio Rapids SC is extremely excited to combine these two dynamic soccer clubs. Both organizations are committed to enhancing player development through this collaborative effort.
