This past Sunday was a special day for the NM Rapids Girls Academy (GA) community as players, families, and supporters came together to make a difference for local children in need. Hosted at Starr Brothers Brewing, the event was a heartwarming success, with nearly 400 toys and over $600 in gift cards and donations collected for the Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico.
Throughout the day, each GA team took turns hosting for an hour, inviting donations and spreading cheer. The energy, dedication, and generosity displayed were nothing short of inspiring. A particularly huge shoutout goes to our 2012GA team, who went above and beyond, collecting close to 250 gifts on their own!
This event is a shining example of what NM Rapids strives to represent: excellence on and off the field. Whether it’s battling on the pitch or giving back to the community, our Rapids family continually shows that soccer is about so much more than the game—it’s about heart, teamwork, and building a stronger, kinder community.
We also want to extend a special thank you to Starr Brothers Brewing for generously hosting this event and providing a welcoming space for our families to come together.
At NM Rapids, we are so proud of the hard work, generosity, and kindness our players, parents, and supporters displayed. Together, we are showing that the spirit of giving is alive and well in our soccer family.
Here’s to many more moments of making a difference—on and off the field. Go Rapids!
