Giving Back Through Soccer: NM Rapids Girls Academy Teams Make a Global Impact

At New Mexico Rapids, soccer is more than just a game—it’s a way to give back, build character, and make a difference. Our 07s, 08s, 09s, 10s, 11s, and 12s Girls Academy Teams recently came together to support The Gift of Soccer Foundation, continuing a proud 15-year partnership that has helped bring the joy of soccer to players locally and across the world.

1,000 Pieces of Gear—Packed with Purpose

These young athletes dedicated their time and energy to sorting, folding, and preparing 1,000 pieces of soccer gear for distribution both locally and worldwide. This gear will provide players, who may not have access to the necessary equipment, with the opportunity to play the sport they love. Whether it’s jerseys, cleats, or soccer balls, these donations ensure that the game remains inclusive and accessible to everyone, no matter their circumstances.

More Than Just Soccer: #MedicalGoKits Initiative

This year, our players took their service to another level by assisting with The Gift of Soccer Foundation’s newest initiative: #MedicalGoKits. These essential kits, which include feminine hygiene products and first aid supplies, will be distributed both locally and internationally to underserved communities. By assembling these kits, our athletes provided vital resources that will support the health and well-being of those in need.

A Team Effort with a Huge Impact

From the players to their families, this event showcased what the NM Rapids community is all about—generosity, teamwork, and service. The smiles, hard work, and dedication seen throughout the day prove that these young athletes are making a tangible impact on the world beyond the pitch.
