9 Female Coaches Join Next Wave Coach Academy
Rio Rapids Soccer Club welcomed 9 female coaches to The Next Wave Coach Academy over the weekend of February 23 and 24.
The Next Wave Coach Academy aims to increase the number of female coaches in the club, provide a safe and exciting learning environment, raise the quality of the coaches’ abilities through experience and licensing, and create a community of female coaches within the club.
The Rapids Symposium, hosted Saturday by Kincaid Schmidt from the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club, educated the coaches on the Rapids style of play and coaching philosophy.
Sunday, the coaches participated in the USSF Grassroots 7v7 course. They had the opportunity to coach a handful of the U9 and U10 Rio Rapids’ female players.
The Next Wave coaches will receive continued support and mentorship throughout the spring season.
